Infermedica raises $3.65M in a new round of funding

I remember back in 2011 when there were just three of us working on a prototype of a symptom checker app that could provide more reliable results than a typical online search.
Fast forward to 2019. Infermedica is a team of over 70 people - medical doctors, software engineers, data scientists, designers, medical translators and business developers - dedicated to building a cutting edge technology for preliminary medical diagnosis in primary care. Our initial idea has turned into a bold mission to guide every patient in the world to the best possible care.
To date our tools have been used by more than 3.5M users in 13 language versions. We have invested over 18,000 hours of physicians’ work into creating and curating one of the most advanced platforms for patient triage and pre-diagnosis. We’re delighted to support and serve over 30 healthcare organizations, such as Allianz Partners, PZU Zdrowie, Medis, Dovera, Everyday Health and Taipei Medical University Hospital.

The new round of funding has never been a goal in itself, but rather a tool to bring even more talent to our team. We will use the new capital to expand our footprint in existing and new markets, to accelerate the development of our products, and to partner with other healthcare organizations in the U.S. and Europe, especially with health systems, hospitals and clinics.

The new investment is also an excellent opportunity to strengthen our leadership capabilities. I’m honored to have a few amazing venture capital investors join our company – Karma Ventures (Estonia) as the lead investor for this round, DreamIT Ventures (USA), Inovo Venture Capital Partners (Poland), and German media company Müller Medien. I’m really proud of this setup, as all of these investors bring significant experience in scaling operations, hiring, healthcare markets and enterprise sales. Thank you very much for your trust and confidence in us.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank our current investors, who have supported us for many years (in chronological order): EIT+, Innovation Nest, Venture Inc, RTA Ventures and Marcin Mandziak. You were the first to believe in us.
